Tasting Notes
Expect a deep amber hue and an immediately recognizable Islay profile. On the nose, there are layers of medicinal peat smoke, sea spray, leather, and soft vanilla, with dried fruit and gentle spice emerging with time in the glass. The palate is rich and full-bodied, moving from smoky embers and brine into notes of oak, toffee, dark fruit, and warm spice, finishing long and lingering with coastal salinity and a pleasantly dry, peaty edge. This is a whisky with excellent aging potential already realized, and it can continue to evolve beautifully in the glass over time.

Laphroaig is distilled on the southern coast of Islay, where Atlantic winds, maritime influence, and peat-rich terrain shape the spirit’s distinctive character. The whisky is made using traditional production methods, with the island’s peaty malt and slow maturation in oak casks contributing to its unmistakable depth and complexity.

Food & Serving
Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to open up its layers of smoke, sweetness, and spice. It pairs well with smoked salmon, grilled seafood, aged cheddar, blue cheese, or rich charcuterie, and is ideal served slightly below room temperature in a tulip glass. Decanting is not necessary, but allowing it to breathe for a few minutes in the glass is highly recommended.
