Why shop with us?
Château Lafite Rothschild 2020 is one of Bordeaux’s most coveted wines, crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon-led precision with added depth from Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. From a historic Pauillac estate with a reputation for elegance and longevity, this First Growth combines purity, structure, and remarkable finesse.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, youthful colour with the concentration you would expect from a top-tier Pauillac. The nose is typically layered and refined, with blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, graphite, violets, and subtle hints of tobacco, spice, and pencil shavings.
On the palate, it is concentrated yet composed, balancing powerful tannins with freshness and polished texture. The finish is long and precise, with the classic Lafite signature of mineral tension and grace. While already impressive, this is a wine built for patience and will reward extended cellaring for many years, likely decades.
Production
Made from grapes grown in Pauillac on Bordeaux’s famed Left Bank, the wine reflects gravelly, well-drained soils that favor Cabernet Sauvignon and help produce wines of great structure and aromatic complexity. The 2020 vintage benefits from careful vineyard work and selective harvesting, with each parcel picked at optimal ripeness to preserve balance and purity. Vinification is carried out with meticulous precision, followed by aging in French oak to integrate tannins and add complexity without overpowering the wine’s natural elegance.
Food & Serving
Best enjoyed with richly flavored dishes such as filet mignon, ribeye, lamb rack, game birds, or slow-braised beef with herbs and root vegetables. Serve at around 16–18°C, and if opened young, decant for 2–4 hours to allow the wine to खुलen and reveal its full aromatic range.
Producer
Château Lafite Rothschild is one of the most famous names in Bordeaux and was classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Classification. Located in Pauillac, the estate has long been celebrated for producing wines of exceptional refinement, longevity, and consistency. Under the Rothschild family, it has maintained an outstanding reputation as one of the benchmark properties of the Left Bank and a global reference point for fine wine.
