Tasting Notes
The wine shows a bright, inviting color in the glass, with an aromatic profile that leans toward tropical fruit, ripe pear, and a subtle hint of spice. On the palate it is generous and fruit-driven, yet lifted by a clean, elegant acidity that adds shape and freshness to the finish. There is both volume and finesse here, making it a Chardonnay with real presence without losing its sense of precision. Thanks to its structure and balance, it should drink well now and develop nicely over the next few years, especially as the oak influence integrates further.

Production
La Mision Chardonnay Gran Reserva 2023 comes from a single vineyard planted in rocky, stone-rich soils at an altitude of around 1,000 meters in Maipo Valley. The high elevation and cool nights help preserve freshness and aromatic complexity, while the terroir contributes a pronounced mineral character that sets the wine apart from more typical Chilean Chardonnays. Around 20% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels for approximately six months, with the remaining 80% kept in stainless steel to retain purity and fruit expression.

Food & Serving
This Chardonnay is an excellent match for rich fish dishes, grilled chicken, game birds, or pork, where its fruit, texture, and acidity can complement the food without overpowering it. Serve chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider brief decanting only if you want to open up the aromatics a little more, though it is not essential.

Today, William Fèvre remains a significant name in the region, with vineyard sites at high altitude and ongoing expansion into cooler southern areas such as Malleco Valley.
