Kurtatsch Pinot Nero 2025

Kurtatsch Pinot Nero is a finely tuned Pinot Noir from the high-altitude vineyards of Trentino-Alto Adige, offering elegance, freshness, and a distinctly Alpine sense of place. Produced by Cantina Kurtatsch, it reflects the long tradition of 190 family growers who have worked these slopes with care and respect for generations.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the classic transparency and finesse of Pinot Noir, with a bright ruby hue. The nose is delicate yet expressive, unfolding with cherry, plum, redcurrant, and mixed berry notes, lifted by subtle spicy aromas. On the palate, it is fresh and refined, with an elegant medium-bodied structure and juicy tannins that give the wine shape without heaviness. The balance of fruit, freshness, and spice makes it immediately appealing, while its structure suggests it can develop gracefully over the next few years.

Production
This Pinot Noir comes from vineyards planted at 400 to 650 meters above sea level, with southern and western exposures that help preserve ripeness while maintaining freshness. The soils are sandy and reddish-brown clay, enriched with clay minerals and iron oxides, lending definition and minerality to the wine. Vinification includes a short cold maceration, fermentation in stainless steel, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in concrete tanks.

Food & Serving
A versatile food wine, it pairs beautifully with roast poultry, duck, veal, mushroom risotto, grilled salmon, and dishes featuring earthy herbs or truffle. Serve slightly chilled at 14–16°C, and decanting is not usually necessary, though 15–20 minutes in a carafe can help open the aromas if desired.
