Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a brilliant golden hue with very fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is generous and layered, offering ripe peach and pear alongside more nuanced notes of honey, almond, and nougat. The palate is intense yet beautifully structured, with ripe fruit, mineral tension, and a discreet but lasting freshness in perfect balance. The finish is long, refined, and elegant, and the wine has the concentration and harmony to continue evolving gracefully for many years.

Production
Krug 2002 is made from a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 39% Chardonnay, and 21% Meunier, sourced to express the best qualities of the vintage. As with every Krug Vintage, the wine is assembled from the most expressive wines of a single year and then aged for more than ten years in the cellars, allowing it to develop its trademark richness, complexity, and texture.

Food & Serving
This Champagne is a superb match for refined dishes such as lobster, scallops, turbot, roast poultry, truffle-based cuisine, or aged hard cheeses. Serve chilled at around 9–12°C; decanting is not usually necessary, but allowing the wine a little time in the glass can help reveal its full aromatic range.
