Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a luminous golden hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is rich and layered, offering aromas of mature orchard fruit, honey, toasted brioche, nuts, and a delicate spice note. The palate is full-bodied yet beautifully poised, with Krug’s signature balance of power and elegance. It finishes long and refined, with lingering fruit, minerality, and a brightness that suggests it can still age gracefully for many years, though it is already superb to drink now.

Production
Krug 1990 was crafted from a carefully selected blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, drawn from a vintage defined by exceptional ripeness and harmony. As with all Krug Vintage wines, it spent more than ten years maturing in the house’s cellars before release, allowing the wine to develop depth, complexity, and the unmistakable Krug signature.

Food & Serving
This is a Champagne for exceptional food moments: think lobster, truffled poultry, scallops, aged Comté, or even roast chicken with fine herbs. Serve chilled, ideally around 10-12°C, and consider a brief decant if the wine is still very tightly knit, especially in magnum format.
