Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby to dark garnet color, signaling concentration and ripeness. The nose is layered with ripe dark berries, black cherry, and subtle spice, supported by the variety’s naturally fresh, lively character. The palate is powerful yet balanced, with concentrated berry fruit, savory spice, and a firm, structured frame. Its finish is persistent and energetic, and while it is approachable now, it should also reward a few years of cellaring as the tannins knit together and the wine gains complexity.

Production
This wine comes from the Pelješac Peninsula in southern Croatia, a rugged coastal terroir shaped by sun, stone, and sea influence. Babić thrives here in warm conditions that help develop depth and ripeness while preserving freshness, making the variety well suited to the region’s dramatic landscapes and distinctive microclimate. The wine is produced as a Vrhunsko Vino, reflecting careful vineyard selection and focused vinification to highlight the grape’s natural intensity and regional identity.
