Kettmeir Athesis Rosè Metodo Classico Brut is a refined sparkling wine from Alto Adige that brings together Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in a crisp, elegant style. Made in the traditional method, it reflects the cool Alpine character of Trentino-Alto Adige and the long sparkling wine heritage of the region.
Tasting Notes
Pale onion-skin pink in the glass, with a persistent, fine mousse and a bright, luminous appearance. The nose opens with delicate red berries, wild strawberries, citrus peel, and light floral notes, underpinned by a subtle brioche and yeast complexity from bottle ageing.
On the palate it is fresh, precise, and well-balanced, with lively acidity and a dry Brut finish. The red fruit character is clean and understated, supported by mineral tension and a creamy texture, making it both refreshing and elegant. It can be enjoyed young for its energy and vibrancy, though it has the structure to develop added nuance over the next few years.
Production
Produced in Trentino-Alto Adige from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown in the cool, high-altitude vineyards of Alto Adige, where mountain influences and significant day-night temperature shifts help preserve freshness and aromatic clarity. The grapes are harvested by hand and selected carefully to maintain quality and finesse. Fermentation follows the Metodo Classico approach, with the second fermentation taking place in bottle to build complexity, texture, and its signature fine mousse.
Food & Serving
Ideal with aperitifs, oysters, sushi, smoked salmon, light seafood dishes, and delicate vegetable starters. Serve well chilled, around 6–8°C, to highlight its freshness and finesse. Decanting is not recommended; instead, open just before serving to preserve the wine’s lively bubbles and aromatic precision.
Producer
Kettmeir is one of Alto Adige’s most respected producers, known for combining local identity with meticulous craftsmanship. Established in the early 20th century, the estate has played an important role in elevating the reputation of sparkling and still wines from the region. Today, Kettmeir is especially recognized for its elegant, terroir-driven wines that express the Alpine character of South Tyrol.
