Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, opaque color that hints at its concentration and structure. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet elegant, with intense fruit framed by refined structure and a polished, almost seamless texture. Production
Kapcsándy sources fruit from 15 specific blocks, with Cabernet Sauvignon at the core and Merlot playing a supporting role. The estate was established in a carefully chosen California site in 2000, after the Kapcsándys became convinced that the United States could produce wines to rival the great houses of Bordeaux. The production philosophy remains firmly Bordeaux-style, with an emphasis on balance, structure, and nuance rather than sheer ripeness or fruit weight.

Food & Serving
This is a wine for rich, savory dishes such as grilled ribeye, lamb rack, braised short ribs, or game. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses and dishes featuring mushrooms or truffle. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking now to allow the wine to fully open.

Kapcsándy Winery began in 1998, when Lou Kapcsándy and his wife visited Bordeaux and were inspired by the standards and elegance of the great estates there. After finding the right property in 2000, the project developed into a focused, highly regarded California producer known for its Bordeaux-inspired wines. With winemaker Dennis Malbec, formerly of Château Latour from 1994 to 2000, the estate has earned a reputation for craftsmanship, restraint, and quality.
