Tasting Notes
In the glass, Kaapzicht Chenin Blanc 2024 shows a pale straw colour with a hint of green at the rim, suggesting freshness and youth. The nose is inviting and fruit-driven, with notes of ripe pear, white peach and yellow apple, layered with hints of citrus blossom, honeysuckle and a gentle mineral lift. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and vibrant, offering juicy stone-fruit and orchard-fruit flavours supported by crisp, mouth-watering acidity. Subtle notes of lemon zest and a delicate, almost saline minerality add definition and length, while a soft, rounded texture keeps it wonderfully approachable. This is a Chenin meant to be enjoyed in its youth for maximum freshness, but it will comfortably develop a bit more complexity over the next 2–3 years.

Production
Sourced from vineyards in the Coastal Region of the Western Cape, Kaapzicht Chenin Blanc 2024 benefits from cooling ocean breezes, decomposed granite soils and ample sunlight—conditions that help preserve acidity while achieving good flavour ripeness. Grapes are harvested in the cool of early morning to protect delicate aromatics and are sorted to ensure only healthy, optimally ripe fruit makes it into the cellar. Fermentation typically takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks to lock in freshness and varietal character, with the wine resting on fine lees for added texture and complexity before bottling.

Food & Serving
This Chenin Blanc is a versatile partner at the table, pairing beautifully with grilled prawns, seared scallops, sushi, lightly spiced Asian dishes, chicken salads or soft cheeses like Brie and Camembert. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C to highlight its aromatics and crisp profile. Decanting is not necessary, but giving the wine a few minutes in the glass to warm slightly from fridge temperature will allow its fruit and floral notes to fully unfold.
