Description

A VDP.Nahe auction bottling from Dorsheimer Goldloch, this 2021 Riesling Kabinett showcases the site’s generous fruit while retaining the fine-boned character of the Nahe. Made by Sebastian Schäfer, it is a distinctive expression of a south-facing, quartzite-rich vineyard.

Tasting Notes
The nose is herbal and warmly spiced, with a delicate exotic-fruit note. On the palate, elegance and lively minerality frame the classic Kabinett interplay of sweetness and acidity, creating a refreshing, animated finish.

Production
The south-facing Dorsheimer Goldloch is known for quartzite-rich soils, which lend its Rieslings more opulent fruit than those from the nearby Pittermännchen, while preserving their filigreed character. Sebastian Schäfer vinifies a Kabinett from this site; details of the 2021 harvest and cellar methods are not available.
