Description

Jean Vesselle Champagne Rosé de Saignée Brut stands out for its vivid colour, expressive red-fruit character and the traditional saignée method used to shape its style. Made from Pinot Noir in Champagne, it reflects a more tactile, flavorful approach to rosé Champagne, with the added appeal of a producer long associated with quality in the region.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deeper, more intense rosé hue than many blended styles, hinting at its maceration-based origins. The nose is marked by refined aromas of red berries—think strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant—alongside subtle floral and brioche notes. On the palate, the wine is lively and structured, with bright freshness balanced by generous fruit concentration and a dry, elegant finish. Its Pinot Noir core gives it a pleasing depth and texture, and while it is already very enjoyable now, it should also hold its charm well over the next few years.

Production
This Champagne is produced from Pinot Noir using the Rosé de Saignée method, where the juice remains in contact with the grape skins for around 24 to 48 hours, depending on the vintage conditions. That short maceration in the Champagne terroir allows for a natural colour extraction and a more aromatic, fruit-driven profile than a rosé made by blending white and red wines.

Food & Serving
A versatile food wine, it pairs beautifully with salmon, tuna tartare, roast poultry, charcuterie, or dishes with red berries and subtle spice. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not recommended; simply open and enjoy to preserve its freshness and fine mousse.

Producer
Jean Vesselle is a respected Champagne producer with a strong reputation for Pinot Noir-driven wines in the Montagne de Reims area. The estate is known for combining traditional methods with a distinctive house style that emphasizes purity, structure and expressive fruit, earning it a solid standing among quality-focused Champagne growers.
