Description

Jacquesson Corne Bautray Non Dosé Récolte 2009 Magnum is a striking Blanc de Blancs from one of Champagne’s most respected names, showing the purity and depth that Chardonnay can achieve in a great single-vineyard expression. Sourced from the historic Corne Bautray parcel in Dizy and bottled without dosage, it combines precision, vinosity, and remarkable intensity in magnum format.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Champagne shows a refined pale gold hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is expressive and layered, with aromas of clear honey, dried white flowers, nougat, yellow apple, fresh peach, and toasted walnuts. The palate is medium to full-bodied, elegant, and beautifully vinous, with a core of ripe fruit balanced by fresh, mature acidity. A chalky, mineral grip gives length and definition to the finish, while the non-dosé style keeps the wine taut, focused, and impeccably clean. It has excellent aging potential and is expected to evolve gracefully over time, gaining further complexity and depth.

Production
The grapes come from Corne Bautray, a steep south-west facing parcel in Dizy, where Chardonnay has been planted since 1960. The site sits on silt over limestone, a terroir that contributes both richness and a distinctive chalk-driven mineral character. The 2009 harvest was vinified as a single-parcel Blanc de Blancs, then disgorged in April 2019 without dosage to preserve the wine’s natural tension and sense of place.

Food & Serving
This Champagne pairs beautifully with fine seafood, such as scallops, lobster, oysters, or turbot, as well as roast poultry, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary, though allowing it a little time in the glass will help the aromatics open fully.

Producer
Champagne Jacquesson is one of the most admired growers in the region, known for its terroir-driven approach and precision winemaking. With a long history dating back to the early 19th century, the house has earned a reputation for producing some of Champagne’s most characterful and sought-after wines. Its acclaimed single-vineyard cuvées and non-dosé style have made Jacquesson a benchmark for elegant, artisanal Champagne.
