J. Hofstätter Trento Michei Extra Brut is a non-vintage Chardonnay sparkling wine from Trentino-Alto Adige, made at the mountain estate of Maso Michei. Its story is a return to family roots: in 2017, Martin Foradori Hofstätter acquired the estate in the remote Ronchi Valley, the ancestral home of his family.

Production
Maso Michei lies high in a secluded mountain landscape in southern Trentino, at the head of the Ronchi Valley above Ala. The wine is made from Chardonnay and labelled Extra Brut; details about harvesting, vinification and maturation have not been provided.

Food & Serving
Its Extra Brut style should suit fresh seafood, shellfish, delicate antipasti and simply prepared poultry. Serve well chilled, around 6–8°C. Decanting is not necessary for sparkling wine.
