Tasting Notes
In the glass, Rubicon 2018 shows a deep garnet-purple color, immediately hinting at its concentration and intensity. The bouquet is layered and expressive, with aromas of crème de cassis, baked plums, blackberry pie, cedar, mocha, tapenade, grilled meats, and a subtle touch of garrigue. The palate is full-bodied yet refined, with juicy black fruit, fine-grained tannins, integrated acidity, and a long, fragrant finish. It combines Cabernet Sauvignon’s classic structure with Cabernet Franc’s aromatic lift, making it both powerful and polished. Production
Inglenook’s vineyards in Rutherford sit on some of Napa Valley’s most celebrated terroir, where well-drained soils and a warm, balanced climate help produce grapes with depth, freshness, and character. The estate selects fruit only from its best parcels for Rubicon, ensuring that the wine reflects both site and vintage at the highest level. The 2018 is a blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, vinified to preserve elegance, structure, and complexity.

Food & Serving
Rubicon 2018 is an excellent match for premium grilled or roasted beef, lamb, venison, braised short ribs, and rich dishes with herbs or a savory crust. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses and truffle-based cuisine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young, allowing the wine to open fully and reveal its layered aromatics.
