Il Palagio Message in a Bottle Toscana Rosso 2024 is an organic Tuscan red made from a harmonious blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah. Full-bodied yet balanced, it combines ripe Mediterranean fruit, gentle spice and velvety tannins with the distinctive character of the hills between Florence and Siena. Produced at Tenuta Il Palagio, Sting and Trudie Styler’s Tuscan estate, the wine reflects the property’s connection to nature, music and local winemaking traditions.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-red in appearance, the wine opens with an intense bouquet of ripe cherries and wild blackberries, complemented by subtle spicy nuances. The palate is dry, generously flavoured and well balanced, with juicy fruit, refreshing acidity and smooth, velvety tannins. French oak maturation adds depth and structure while allowing the natural fruit character to remain at the forefront. A long, clean finish leaves a satisfying impression. Enjoyable in its youth, it should develop additional complexity over the next few years when stored in suitable conditions.

Production
The grapes come from organically farmed vineyards on the rolling hills of Il Palagio, situated between Florence and Siena near Figline Valdarno. The blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks using native yeasts, followed by approximately one week of skin maceration to extract colour, aroma and flavour. The wine then matures for 12 months in French oak barrels, which help refine its tannic structure without overwhelming its lively fruit profile.

Food & Serving
Serve at 14–18°C, ideally after decanting for around one hour to allow the wine’s aromas and texture to open. Its generous, supple style pairs beautifully with grilled meats, rustic Tuscan dishes, lasagne, rich risottos and generously topped pizza. It is also well suited to savoury cured meats, mature cheeses and blue cheeses.
