Tasting Notes
Pale to medium gold in the glass, the 2022 Little Bit opens with an expressive, layered nose of ripe apricots, green guava, lime, melted butter, popcorn, honey, and a subtle marzipan note. The bouquet is generous and polished, leading into a deeply concentrated palate that is both rich and precise. On the palate, expect a full-bodied Chardonnay with impressive intensity and texture, unfolding notes of grape, vanilla, baked apple, caramel, and brioche, finishing with a vivid saline minerality that brings lift and structure. It has the concentration and balance to develop beautifully in bottle over the next several years.

Production
The grapes come from the Little Bit vineyard in Napa Valley, located in a different site than Hudson’s Ladybug selection, which gives the wine its own distinct character. The fruit is harvested with a focus on quality and then whole-cluster pressed before spending 23 months on the lees in French oak barrels, 80% of which were new. This élevage gives the wine its creamy texture, oak complexity, and remarkable depth.

This is a Chardonnay that pairs beautifully with rich seafood dishes such as butter-poached lobster, scallops, or roasted halibut, as well as roast chicken, creamy pasta, and dishes with truffle or mushroom accents. Serve slightly chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider decanting briefly if you want to open up its aromatic complexity in its youth.
