Crafted from 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc, it marries opulent, exotic aromatics with real structure and aging potential. Tasting Notes
In the glass, Hosanna 2015 shows a medium to deep garnet-purple hue, already hinting at its concentration and youth. The nose is intensely perfumed and exotic: waves of smoked meat, black truffle, sandalwood, and Indian spices bloom from the glass, layered over ripe cherry compote, blackberry tart, and blueberry preserves, with subtle notes of dried herbs and rosehip. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and powerful, packed with muscular, tightly coiled black and blue fruits. The texture is driven by firm yet finely grained tannins that give shape and grip without harshness. Juicy acidity keeps the richness in check, lifting flavors of dark berries, licorice, and warm spice through a long, lingering finish. Already incredibly alluring and delicious in its youth, it is equally a wine for the cellar, with an aging window that comfortably extends 20–30 years from vintage in top conditions.

Production
Château Hosanna lies in the heart of Pomerol on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, on a prized gravel and clay plateau that is perfectly suited to Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The vines benefit from excellent drainage and a moderating climate that allows for slow, even ripening. Grapes are harvested by hand at optimal maturity, with careful sorting to ensure only the best fruit makes it into the final blend. In the cellar, Hosanna is vinified in temperature-controlled vats to gently extract color, flavor, and tannin, followed by élevage in high-quality French oak barriques (a significant proportion new), where the wine gains its polish, aromatic complexity, and remarkable depth before bottling.

Food & Serving
Hosanna 2015 is a natural partner for rich, refined dishes: think roasted lamb with herbs, tournedos Rossini, duck breast with truffle jus, braised short ribs, or a wild mushroom risotto. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses and earthy dishes featuring truffle or game birds. Serve at 16–18°C (around 60–64°F) to show its full aromatic spectrum. Decant for 1–2 hours in its youth to allow the aromatics and tannins to unwind; as it matures, a shorter decant (30–45 minutes) will be sufficient to remove sediment and let the wine open up.

Château Hosanna is one of Pomerol’s jewel-box estates, part of the renowned portfolio of Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix, the family behind several of the Right Bank’s most illustrious châteaux. Created in its current form at the turn of the 21st century from some of Pomerol’s finest old-vine parcels, Hosanna quickly gained a reputation for producing wines of remarkable sensuality, complexity, and finesse. Though relatively small in size, it holds an outsized status in the region, with top critics regularly singling it out as one of Pomerol’s star performers, particularly in benchmark vintages like 2015.
