Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, polished profile with purity at the core. The nose is complex and restrained, opening with citrus, lime, white peach, and pear, followed by white flowers, toasted hazelnut, and subtle notes of brioche and vanilla. The palate is concentrated yet silky, with vibrant acidity and a distinct chalky mineral character that brings tension and length. Layers of citrus fruit and delicate spice unfold in a long, precise finish. While beautifully enjoyable young, it has the structure and depth to develop further complexity over the next 10–15 years under ideal cellaring conditions.

Production
The grapes come exclusively from Hamilton Russell’s own vineyards in Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, where clay-rich, slate-influenced soils and the cooling Atlantic influence shape the wine’s signature freshness and finesse. The fruit is hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels. The wine is then aged in barrel with lees contact, adding texture and complexity while preserving the clarity of the fruit and the expression of terroir.

Food & Serving
This Chardonnay is a superb match for lobster, scallops, grilled fish, roast chicken, creamy pasta, or poultry with a light sauce. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C, and consider decanting briefly if you want to open up its aromatic complexity, though it is not essential.
