Hahn Family Wines’ 2021 SLH Estate Pinot Noir is a tribute to founder Nicky Hahn’s belief that the cool-climate slopes of California’s Santa Lucia Highlands could excel with Burgundy varieties. Carefully selected vineyard lots and considered barrel ageing bring together ripe fruit, earthy character and polished texture.

Production

Pinot Noir has a special place in Hahn Family Wines’ story. When founder Nicky Hahn acquired his first parcels in the Santa Lucia Highlands, they were planted with Cabernet Sauvignon; convinced that the region’s cool conditions better suited Burgundy varieties, he replanted them and built the winery around that vision. The SLH Estate cuvée honours this defining decision and the terroir he championed.
