Haderburg’s Blauburgunder Pinot Nero Riserva Hausmannhof 2020 is a refined Alto Adige Pinot Noir that combines mountain freshness with impressive depth and precision. Sourced from the historic Hausmannhof vineyard in Pochi di Salorno, it stands out for its clarity, finesse, and the elegance that has made this cuvée a benchmark in the region since its first release in 1993.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, clear ruby-red color typical of well-crafted Pinot Noir. The nose is expressive and layered, with ripe red fruit, a complex spicy character, and a subtle hint of liquorice that adds intrigue. On the palate, the wine is fresh and well-structured, with fine tannins and a defined, balanced profile. It finishes dry, focused, and persistent, with enough intensity and structure to age gracefully for several years, developing even greater nuance and complexity over time.

Production
The grapes come from the Hausmannhof vineyard in Pochi di Salorno, in Trentino-Alto Adige, where around 30-year-old vines grow on calcareous-clay soils. The vineyard is trained using modified pergola and Guyot systems, with low yields helping to preserve concentration and varietal purity. Harvest takes place at the end of September. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel with natural pigeage for around two weeks, using temperature control by cooling the tank walls. Malolactic fermentation continues in wood, followed by careful maturation in a mix of new and used barriques to build roundness, stability, and elegance.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir is an excellent match for red meats, game, roasted poultry, and mushroom-based dishes, where its freshness and fine tannins can complement richer flavors without overwhelming them. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decanting for about 30–60 minutes can help bring out its aromatic complexity and silky texture, especially in its youth.
