Tasting Notes
In the glass, it is a deeply colored, brooding red with impressive concentration. The nose opens with black raspberries, wild flowers, and a distinctive savory note of bacon fat, layered with exotic spice and oak-derived complexity. The palate is rich, full-bodied, and densely textured, with ripe tannins and remarkable mid-palate depth. It carries a dark, powerful profile while retaining the classic La Mouline allure—silky, seductive, and long. This is a wine with substantial aging potential, and it should develop beautifully over many years in bottle.

Production
La Mouline comes from Côte-Rôtie in the northern Rhône, where steep, sun-exposed hillside vineyards produce some of France’s most distinguished Syrah-based wines. The addition of Viognier brings aromatic lift and finesse, while extended aging in new oak for 42 months adds structure, polish, and layers of complexity.

This is a natural match for richly flavored dishes such as venison, roast lamb, braised short ribs, or duck with savory sauces. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant several hours in advance to allow the wine to fully раскры and show its layered aromatics and texture.
