Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, mature garnet colour with impressive concentration. The nose is expansive and layered, offering blackberry, smoked meat, black pepper, and exotic floral notes, all wrapped in a refined, almost sensual aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and deeply concentrated, yet beautifully seamless, with ripe dark fruit, savory spice, and a luxurious, textured finish. The balance and structure suggest excellent longevity, and while it is drinking beautifully now, it can continue to evolve gracefully for many years.

Production
La Mouline comes from a prized single vineyard site in Côte-Rôtie, where steep slopes and a mix of schist and gneiss soils help give the wine its signature finesse and intensity. The grapes are harvested by hand, with vinification focused on preserving purity, complexity, and balance, followed by Guigal’s famously long oak aging regime that contributes to the wine’s depth and polish.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for roast lamb, venison, duck breast, or richly flavored game dishes, as well as truffle-infused or mushroom-based recipes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about an hour if opening now to allow the aromas to fully unfold.
