Description

Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2015 is a classic Pauillac from one of Bordeaux’s most respected Fifth Growth estates, offering the structure, precision, and depth that collectors seek. Made in a vineyard known for its gravelly soils and Cabernet Sauvignon dominance, it captures the aristocratic style that has made Pauillac famous for generations.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep garnet-purple color with youthful intensity. The nose is layered and refined, with blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, pencil shavings, tobacco, and subtle floral and graphite notes. On the palate, the wine is firm and focused, with concentrated dark fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a long mineral-driven finish. The 2015 vintage has the balance and concentration to age beautifully, with the potential to develop greater complexity over 15–25 years or more.

Production
Grand-Puy-Lacoste comes from one of the most favorable sites in Pauillac, where well-drained gravel soils over limestone and clay create ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate is traditionally harvested by hand and vinified with precision to preserve fruit purity, structure, and freshness, followed by aging in French oak barrels to add complexity and refine the tannins.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs exceptionally well with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, entrecôte, game, duck breast, and dishes featuring mushrooms or truffle. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to open up and soften.

Producer
Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is a historic Fifth Growth estate in Pauillac, classified in the 1855 Bordeaux classification. Long recognized for producing elegant, age-worthy wines with a highly classical Bordeaux profile, the estate is considered one of the leading references in the appellation and has earned strong acclaim among collectors and critics alike.
