Description

The Glenrothes 12 Year Old is a refined Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, known for its elegant balance of bright citrus, gentle spice and rich, sweet oak. Matured in carefully selected sherry-seasoned casks, it offers a smooth and approachable style with the subtle complexity associated with The Glenrothes.

Aroma & Palate
On the nose, fresh lemon and ripe banana are complemented by soft vanilla, delicate floral notes and a touch of cinnamon. The palate is smooth and rounded, bringing together sweet citrus, vanilla cream, gentle ginger and warming baking spices. A light oak character develops towards the finish, which is medium in length, softly sweet and pleasantly spiced.

Distillation & Maturation
The Glenrothes 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt made from malted barley and matured for at least 12 years in sherry-seasoned oak casks. The cask maturation contributes its notes of vanilla, dried fruit and spice while allowing the whisky’s bright, delicate character to remain at the centre.

Serving Suggestions
Enjoy it neat at room temperature to appreciate its balance and texture, or add a few drops of water to open up the citrus and spice notes. It can also be served over a large ice cube, although its gentle character is particularly well suited to sipping on its own. For a food pairing, try it with lightly spiced desserts, crème brûlée, or mature hard cheese.

The Glenrothes distillery is located in Rothes at the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region and was founded in 1879. The distillery is recognised for producing elegant, fruit-forward single malts, with a strong emphasis on careful cask selection and sherry-seasoned oak maturation.
