Girlan Lagrein 2025

Production
The grapes come from Girlan-owned vineyards around Cornaiano, in the Oltradige and Bassa Atesina areas, at elevations of 250–550 metres. Warm, deep sandy soils support ripening, while careful cultivation takes the environment into consideration. The grapes are hand-harvested in small containers, destemmed and slowly fermented at controlled temperature in stainless-steel tanks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for eight months in oak casks and concrete tanks.

Food & Serving
Its supple texture and fresh acidity make it a good match for grilled or roasted red meats, game, sausages and dishes with mushrooms or firm, aged cheeses. Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C. A brief decant before serving can help the wine open up.

Cantina Girlan was founded in 1923 in a historic 16th-century farmhouse in Cornaiano. The cooperative brings together around 200 members, drawing on hillside vineyards to produce wines that express Alto Adige’s distinctive growing conditions. Its approach combines regional tradition with modern cellar techniques.
