Giovanni Rosso Barolo Cerretta is a concentrated, site-driven Nebbiolo from one of Barolo’s most admired communes, Serralunga d’Alba. Combining depth, structure, and refinement, it captures both the power of the Cerretta cru and the finesse that has made Barolo one of Italy’s great historic wines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark, concentrated garnet color that hints at its intensity. The nose opens somewhat quietly before unfolding into more expressive layers of violet, dried rose, and cherry. On the palate, it reflects the full-bodied style of Serralunga with solid structure, lively tannins, and a precise, silky finish. The wine is still youthful and built for aging, with the potential to develop greater complexity and nuance over the coming years.

Production
The grapes are sourced from Cerretta in Serralunga d'Alba, where the combination of altitude, exposure, and limestone-rich soils helps give Nebbiolo its trademark tension and depth. Harvest takes place in mid-October, with fermentation lasting around 29 days in cement tanks using native yeasts, and is managed with daily pump-overs, délestage, and pigeage. The wine then matures for 36 months in 25 hl French oak casks from the Fontainebleau forest.

Food & Serving
This Barolo pairs beautifully with traditional dishes such as duck in Barolo, game, aged cheeses, and pork. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for a few hours if possible to allow the aromatics and tannins to open fully.
