Description

Giodo Prètto Brunello 2021 offers a lively, more immediately approachable expression of Brunello di Montalcino, sitting between Carlo Ferrini’s Rosso and the estate’s flagship Brunello. “Prètto” means “truthful” or “sincere” in Tuscan dialect—a fitting name for this distinctly fruit-forward wine, released in a 15,000-bottle lot.

Tasting Notes
Intense fruit leads the nose, joined by spice, white pepper and pressed violet. On the palate, the wine balances generous fruit with freshness and poise, offering a more accessible style while retaining Brunello’s character. Enjoyable in its youth, it should also gain added complexity with a few years in the cellar; exact aging potential will depend on storage conditions and personal preference.

Production
The wine draws on fruit selected from four hectares of vineyards. A slow, 20-day skin maceration helps build its concentrated fruit character. Further details on the vineyard soils, harvesting methods and the remainder of the vinification are not provided.

Food & Serving
Try it with roast lamb, grilled steak, wild mushroom dishes or aged Pecorino. Serve at around 16–18°C. A brief decant—about 30–60 minutes—can help the wine open up, particularly when serving it young.
