Tasting Notes
Promis 2023 typically shows a vibrant, youthful color with a bright ruby core. On the nose, expect ripe dark berries, plum, Mediterranean herbs and a subtle touch of spice, along with the refined freshness that Gaja is known for. On the palate, the wine is supple and medium-bodied, with juicy black fruit, fine tannins and a clean, energetic finish. It is approachable in its youth, but should gain added complexity over the next 4–6 years, developing more savory and earthy nuances with time.

Production
Ca’Marcanda is Gaja’s estate in Bolgheri, where warm coastal conditions, sun exposure and well-drained soils help shape ripe, expressive wines. The grapes are typically harvested by hand at optimal maturity, then vinified separately to preserve the character of each variety before blending. The result is a balanced wine that reflects careful selection and precise cellar work.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled lamb, roast poultry, beef tenderloin, mushroom dishes and aged hard cheeses. Serve it at 16–18°C, and decant for about 30–45 minutes if you want to bring out more aromatic detail and soften the wine’s youthful structure.
