Gabe Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze Alabastro Brut 2025

Gabe Alabastro is a refined Brut sparkling wine made from Glera grown in Cartizze, one of the most prestigious corners of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG. Its fine, persistent mousse and expressive fruit reflect this distinctive hillside terroir, while the name Alabastro nods both to the region’s limestone-rich soils and to the wine’s elegant character.

Tasting Notes
Straw yellow with green highlights, it opens with an abundant, delicate mousse. The aromatic bouquet brings together acacia and wisteria with notes of Abate pear, Golden apple, apricot and almond. On the palate, it is aromatic and elegant, with soft texture balanced by refreshing acidity and a long finish marked by a characteristic hint of bitterness.

Production
The Glera vineyards lie at around 250 metres above sea level in Cartizze’s famed Golden Pentagon, with south-facing exposure and yellowish clay soils rich in limestone, sandstone and moraine. The vines’ roots reach compact limestone beneath the surface, which helps limit growth and maintain water reserves. After gentle pressing and static settling, the must undergoes temperature-controlled primary fermentation with selected yeasts. A second fermentation takes place using the Charmat method in autoclave over approximately 30–40 days, followed by three months on fine lees to build texture and balance.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 6–8°C, as an aperitif or alongside seafood, delicate fish dishes, vegetable starters and fresh cheeses. Its fruit and lively freshness also suit light antipasti. Decanting is not recommended; open shortly before serving to preserve the wine’s sparkle and aromatic lift.

Founded in 2024 by Gabriella Benedetta Vettoretti, Gabe brings a historic family heritage to a selection of independently chosen wines. The winery draws on ten hectares in Cartizze’s celebrated Golden Pentagon, producing wines that showcase this highly regarded area of Valdobbiadene. Alabastro is presented as a particularly refined expression of the region’s DOCG tradition.
