Franz Haas Gewurztraminer is a beautifully aromatic white wine from Alto Adige, crafted by one of the region’s most respected family estates. Made from 100% Traminer Aromatico, it reflects seven generations of winemaking devoted to precision, character, and the pursuit of perfection.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense golden hue that hints at its richness and aromatic depth. The nose is layered and expressive, with lychee, orange peel, clove, nutmeg, and rose petals leading the way. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet vibrant, with a stimulating balance of structure, freshness, and lively energy. A subtle bitter edge adds complexity to the long, persistent finish, and its concentration suggests very good aging potential.

Production
The grapes come from hillside vineyards at 350 to 650 meters above sea level, with southwest exposure and deep clay soils mixed with a significant amount of gravel and stones. After a brief skin maceration, the must is fermented at low temperature in stainless steel tanks, then aged on the lees for around six months with regular bâtonnage to enhance texture and aromatic complexity.

Food & Serving
This Gewürztraminer pairs wonderfully with aromatic Asian dishes, spiced seafood, aged cheeses, or rich poultry preparations. Serve chilled at around 10-12°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a short aeration can help it open up in the glass.
