On the palate, the wine is structured and savory, with ripe cassis, dark plum, crushed stone, and cedar-driven complexity, all supported by firm, polished tannins. Château La Grande Roche is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Malbec, all sourced from the Forman Vineyard in Napa Valley. The fruit is hand-harvested and carefully sorted, reflecting Ric Forman’s uncompromising approach to quality. As the estate’s second wine, it is composed largely of press wine and selected lots that do not quite make the cut for the flagship bottling, yet still deliver impressive concentration and class. The style is rooted in the old-school Bordeaux tradition that has long defined Forman’s work.

Food & Serving
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a natural match for a well-seared steak, grilled ribeye, lamb chops, or rich dishes with roasted mushrooms and peppery sauces. Serve it at around 16-18°C and consider decanting for 1-2 hours if enjoying it young, especially to let the aromatics and tannins open up. With a bit of age, it will become even more seamless and expressive.
