Forman Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Magnum

Forman Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Magnum is one of Napa Valley’s most respected cult Cabernets, crafted by Ric Forman, a true pioneer of California winemaking. Inspired by Bordeaux yet unmistakably Californian, it combines old-school precision, remarkable depth, and the kind of concentration that has made Forman a benchmark for lovers of классic, age-worthy Napa Cabernet.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark purple hue that hints at its intensity and structure. The nose is layered and expressive, with blackcurrant, cassis, sweet tobacco, leather, lavender, sage, and a subtle eucalyptus note, unfolding with graphite, smoke, and dark-fleshed fruit as it opens. The palate is powerful and compact, with flavors of blueberry, blackberry, truffle, forest floor, and a delicate whisper of anise. It has impressive energy and concentration, with firm structure underneath the fruit, and the magnum format gives it outstanding aging potential; this wine can evolve beautifully for 15 years or more, and likely far beyond in the right cellar.

Production
Fruit is hand-harvested from Forman Vineyard in California and sorted within 30 minutes of picking to ensure only the best berries make the cut. The wine is then aged for 20 months in new French oak in Ric Forman’s deep underground cellars, 10 levels below ground, a patient and traditional approach that brings texture, polish, and depth without overshadowing the fruit.

Food & Serving
This is a serious Cabernet Sauvignon best served with rich, flavorful dishes such as ribeye steak, braised short ribs, lamb rack, venison, or duck with dark berry sauce. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to let the wine fully раскрыть its ароматics and structure.
