Description
Feudi San Gregorio’s Fiano di Avellino is a classic expression of one of Campania’s most prized white grapes, shaped by the volcanic landscapes of southern Italy. Elegant, fresh, and unmistakably Mediterranean, it stands out for its balance of aromatic finesse, natural softness, and mineral drive — a style that has helped make Fiano di Avellino one of Italy’s most respected white wines.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, this white shows a bright, clear straw-yellow color with appealing luminosity. The nose is refined and expressive, offering delicate notes of chamomile, yellow peach, and candied orange, all lifted by a fresh floral character and subtle Mediterranean warmth.
On the palate, Fiano’s signature roundness comes through beautifully, supported by lively freshness and a distinct mineral edge. The wine feels balanced and textured, with a clean, persistent finish. While approachable young for its aromatic charm, it also has the structure to develop nicely over the short to medium term.
Production
This Fiano di Avellino DOCG comes from Campania, where the variety benefits from a terroir influenced by volcanic soils and a warm Mediterranean climate. The grapes are vinified with care to preserve freshness and aromatic precision, with alcoholic fermentation carried out in stainless steel tanks at 16–18°C. The wine then matures for around four months in stainless steel, helping maintain purity of fruit and the variety’s natural tension.
Food & Serving
Ideal with shellfish, fish in creamy or savory sauces, and grilled seafood. Serve chilled, ideally at 8–10°C, to highlight its freshness and aromatic detail. Decanting is not necessary; simply open and enjoy while young to capture its brightest character.
