FEL Pinot Gris Anderson Valley 2021 is a beautifully layered white wine that shows just how expressive Pinot Gris can be in cool-climate California. Praised by Robert Parker as the finest New World Pinot Gris he had tasted, it combines richness and texture with remarkable freshness and lift.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it is bright and inviting, with a pale golden hue that hints at its subtle richness. The nose opens with pineapple, pear, lime, white flowers, and a gentle thread of honey, while the palate delivers nectarine, pear, green melon rind, citrus, salted almonds, and sliced cucumber in a vibrant, lightly oily style. What makes this wine so compelling is its balance: it is supple and almost creamy, yet stays light on its feet thanks to fresh acidity and coastal energy. It can be enjoyed now for its vivid fruit and texture, but it also has the structure to develop nicely over the next few years.

Production
This Pinot Gris is sourced from three Anderson Valley vineyards, each bringing a different dimension to the blend. Wiley and Klindt, located closer to the Pacific Ocean, contribute brisk acidity and citrus character, while the warmer, more sheltered Donnelly Creek site adds a riper, more tropical edge. Winemaker Ryan Hodgins crafts the wine to preserve both freshness and concentration, resulting in a layered white with clear site expression.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for sushi, sashimi, fresh seafood, shellfish, or lightly seasoned Asian dishes, where its acidity and subtle richness can shine. Serve chilled at around 8-10°C, and no decanting is necessary—simply open and enjoy.
