Tasting Notes
Expect a deep, inviting color in the glass, with a nose that leans toward ripe dark berries, Mediterranean herbs, and subtle spicy notes. The palate is typically medium to full-bodied, with Merlot bringing generosity and texture, while Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure, freshness, and length. The clay-rich, stony soils help preserve balance and encourage a slow, even ripening, giving the wine a measured, refined feel rather than excessive ripeness. It should drink beautifully on release, but also has the structure to develop well over the next several years.

Production
Le Gonnare comes from a small vineyard in Bolgheri, where clay soils rich in skeleton stones provide excellent drainage and support a gradual maturation cycle. Fabio Motta began farming the site in 2012, working with a hands-on approach that emphasizes the character of the land and the quality of the fruit. The result is a Mediterranean expression of Bolgheri that remains composed and balanced.

This wine pairs well with grilled or roasted red meats, lamb, game, and rich Tuscan dishes such as pappardelle with wild boar ragù. It is best served at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended to let the aromatics open fully.
