Elena Walch’s Gewürztraminer Selezione EW is a vibrant, fruit-driven expression of one of Alto Adige’s most distinctive white grape varieties. Sourced from vineyards around the town of Tramin—widely regarded as the spiritual home of Gewürztraminer—it combines exotic fruit, floral fragrance and subtle spice with refreshing energy.

Tasting Notes
Brilliant and aromatic in the glass, this Gewürztraminer opens with expressive notes of fresh tropical fruit and white flowers, complemented by a delicate impression of sweet spice. The palate is lively and generous, with a medium-bodied texture, bright fruit acidity and a flavour profile that mirrors the nose. While delicious in its youth, it can develop additional aromatic complexity over the next few years when stored well.

Production
The grapes are harvested from vineyards in and around Tramin in Alto Adige, where the Gewürztraminer variety takes its name and has deep historical roots. Following harvest, the grapes are pressed immediately on arrival at the winery, and the must is stabilised at low temperature to preserve its freshness and aromatic character. Fermentation is followed by several months of maturation on the lees in stainless-steel tanks, adding texture while keeping the wine bright and precise.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at around 8–10°C. Its aromatic profile and lively acidity make it a natural partner for fish dishes, seafood with aromatic herbs, mildly spicy Asian-inspired cuisine and mature, soft cheeses. Decanting is not necessary, although allowing the wine a few minutes in the glass will help its floral and tropical aromas unfold.
