Château Durfort-Vivens 2020 is a refined Margaux from one of the appellation’s most respected Second Growth estates, offering classic Left Bank elegance with impressive precision. Known for its estate-driven style and careful cellar work, it combines supple Bordeaux character with the finesse and aromatic lift that make Margaux so distinctive.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby core with bright purple reflections. The nose is expressive and layered, with blackcurrant, dark cherry, violets, cedar, and subtle graphite and spice notes unfolding with air. On the palate, it is polished and well-structured, with ripe cassis and plum framed by fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is long and graceful, leaving impressions of tobacco, pencil shavings, and floral nuance. While already appealing in youth, it has the concentration and balance to age beautifully for 15 years or more.

Production
Produced in Margaux on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, the wine reflects the region’s gravelly soils, which help promote drainage and encourage finesse, aromatic complexity, and tannic structure. Harvesting is typically carried out parcel by parcel to capture optimal ripeness, followed by careful vinification aimed at preserving purity of fruit and terroir expression.

Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C and, if possible, decant for 1–2 hours when drinking young to help the wine open up. It pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game birds, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses.
