Description

Dujac Fils & Père Gevrey-Chambertin 2012 is a classic expression of one of Burgundy’s most respected villages, sourced from carefully selected parcels in the heart of Gevrey. Made from old-vine Pinot Noir and shaped by Domaine Dujac’s understated winemaking style, it combines depth, finesse, and a distinctly elegant sense of terroir.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright ruby colour. The nose opens with red berries, cherry, gentle spice, and a subtle earthy note of forest floor. On the palate, the wine is precise and refined, with fine tannins, lively acidity, and a graceful, balanced finish. The 2012 vintage is now entering a beautiful stage of maturity, offering harmony and softness while still retaining freshness and definition. It has the structure to continue developing in bottle for several more years, especially if stored well.

Production
The wine comes from selected parcels of limestone- and clay-rich soils in Gevrey-Chambertin, an area known for producing Pinot Noir with power, perfume, and structure. The grapes are harvested by hand, with partial whole-cluster vinification used to preserve freshness and add complexity. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels, with a moderate proportion of new oak lending texture and depth without masking the character of the fruit.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for duck, roast chicken, game birds, mushroom dishes, and Burgundy-style beef preparations. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting is recommended if opening now, ideally for 30–60 minutes, to help the aromatics fully unfold.

Producer
Domaine Dujac is one of Burgundy’s most admired estates, founded in the late 1960s and now recognised for its elegant, terroir-driven wines. Based in Morey-Saint-Denis, the domaine has built a strong reputation for producing some of the region’s most expressive Pinot Noir, and the Fils & Père label reflects a more accessible yet still highly respected style within that tradition.
