Production
The Kreuznacher Krötenpfuhl vineyard lies near Bad Kreuznach in the Nahe, characterized by stony, pebble-rich soils overlaying groundwater-bearing layers. These stones warm quickly while the subsoil retains ample moisture, encouraging vines to root deeply and giving Riesling that distinctive combination of ripeness and tension. Grapes are typically hand-harvested at Kabinett-level ripeness to preserve finesse and low alcohol, then gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel and/or traditional large German oak (Stück or Fuder), with fermentation stopped at the desired balance of natural grape sugar and acidity, resulting in a finely tuned, medium-sweet Kabinett style.

Food & Serving
This Riesling Kabinett is a versatile partner at the table. Its subtle sweetness and high acidity make it excellent with lightly spicy Asian dishes (Thai salads, sushi with a touch of wasabi, mild curries), as well as with grilled prawns, ceviche, or simple white fish with citrus and herbs. It also shines alongside fresh goat cheese, soft cheeses like young brie, and dishes featuring aromatic herbs. Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary, but opening the bottle 15–20 minutes before serving in a white wine glass allows the citrus, tea-leaf and herbal notes to unfold nicely.
