Donnafugata Etna Bianco Sul Vulcano 2023 is a beautifully expressive Sicilian white that captures the energy and elegance of Mount Etna’s volcanic slopes. Made from Carricante, the region’s signature white grape, it combines precision, freshness, and mineral depth in a style that has become one of the most distinctive expressions of Etna today.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright straw-yellow color with lively green reflections. The nose is refined and layered, offering citrus, white flowers, crisp orchard fruit, and a marked smoky-mineral character that reflects its volcanic origin. On the palate it is fresh, tense, and well structured, with vibrant acidity, saline notes, and a long, clean finish. This is a white wine with excellent balance and the potential to develop additional complexity over the next few years.

Production
The wine comes from vineyards on the slopes of Mount Etna, where volcanic soils, altitude, and strong day-to-night temperature shifts help preserve freshness and aromatic finesse. Carricante is harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, then vinified with care to emphasize purity, tension, and varietal character. The result is a wine that speaks clearly of place, combining ripe fruit with the mineral imprint of its terroir.

Food & Serving
A natural match for grilled fish, seafood pasta, shellfish, sushi, and vegetable dishes with Mediterranean herbs. Serve well chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, to highlight its freshness and mineral drive.
