Description

Dominus Estate 2023 is a rich, Cabernet-led red that balances polished French oak with generous dark-fruit character. The estate’s namesake wine reflects the Bordeaux-influenced approach of founder Christian Moueix, who established Dominus in Napa Valley in 1983.

Tasting Notes
Deep in colour, the wine opens with aromas of black cherry, layered with hints of caramel and cedar from oak ageing. On the palate, ripe dark fruit and earthy notes come together in a full-bodied, almost creamy texture, supported by velvety tannins. The finish is notably persistent and complex; its structure suggests potential to develop further in the cellar, though no specific drinking window is available.

Production
The 2023 blend comprises 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. It was aged in French oak barrels, 40% of them new. Details on vineyard conditions, harvesting and vinification are not available.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C. Decant for about an hour to let the wine open up, particularly if enjoying it young. Its dark-fruit richness and supple tannins pair well with grilled or roasted beef, lamb, and dishes featuring mushrooms or herbs.
