Domaines Ott By Ott Rosé Côtes de Provence 2023 is a beautifully crafted rosé from one of Provence’s most respected names, bringing together freshness, finesse, and impressive aromatic depth. Made from fruit drawn mainly from Château Mireille and Château de Selle, it reflects the classic elegance of Côtes de Provence while offering a modern, easy-to-enjoy style.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the classic bright salmon-pink to red-orange hue that Provence rosé lovers expect. The nose opens with white peach, apricot, passion fruit, and mango, giving it a vibrant and inviting aromatic profile.
The palate is crisp and lively, with the same ripe fruit character supported by citrus notes and a gentle touch of spice, including hints of cinnamon and cardamom. It finishes with excellent balance and a graceful, harmonious style that makes it immediately appealing. Best enjoyed young for its freshness, though it should hold nicely over the short term.
Production
This rosé is sourced mainly from two of Domaines Ott’s estates in Côtes de Provence: Château Mireille and Château de Selle, both known for their expressive Mediterranean terroir and ideal conditions for premium rosé production. The blend is composed of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, with each parcel harvested and vinified separately to preserve the character of each grape and the variation in ripening time.
After complete destemming and gentle crushing, the grapes rest overnight in tank before the juice is separated from skins and seeds. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel to maintain freshness, and the final blend is assembled only after fermentation is complete, with a clear focus on balancing vibrancy and complexity.
Food & Serving
Serve this rosé well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, to highlight its freshness and aromatic precision. It is a natural match for seafood, fish, shellfish, poultry, and white meats, and it also pairs beautifully with Provençal dishes and lightly spiced international cuisine. Decanting is not necessary.
Producer
Domaines Ott is one of Provence’s benchmark producers, with a long-standing reputation for crafting some of the region’s most elegant and sought-after wines. The estates of Château de Selle and Château Mireille have helped define the style of fine Provençal rosé, and the house is widely recognized for its commitment to quality, balance, and terroir expression. With By Ott, the domaine brings that heritage into a fresh, contemporary cuvée that remains true to its prestigious roots.
