Domaine Roux, Saint Aubin, 2022

Domaine Roux’s Saint-Aubin 2022 is a refined Burgundy Chardonnay that captures the cool, mineral-driven character of this up-and-coming Côte de Beaune commune. Built from parcels across Saint-Aubin’s distinct sites, it offers a precise, terroir-transparent expression that Burgundy lovers will immediately recognize and appreciate.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, luminous profile with a polished, elegant texture. The nose is lifted and detailed, with citrus, green apple, pear, pomelo, flint, and a subtle stony, iron-like edge that speaks to the appellation’s cooler climate. On the palate, the wine is crisp and finely etched, combining citrusy freshness with a clean mineral line and a supple, white-fruited core. It is already very enjoyable now for its energy and clarity, but it also has the structure to evolve gracefully, gaining notes of honey, acacia, and beeswax with time in bottle.

Production
The wine is assembled from four parcels across Saint-Aubin, including sites in the cooler western sector and plots near the Premier Cru belt on the eastern side, allowing Domaine Roux to present a broad yet coherent picture of the commune. The 2022 vintage was aged for 18–19 months in French barriques, with 15% new oak, adding subtle depth without overshadowing the vineyard expression.

Food & Serving
Serve at 12–14°C and pair it with baked white fish, roast or poached chicken, or other delicately sauced poultry and seafood dishes. Decanting is not essential, though a short aeration can help the wine open up if served young.
