Description

Domaine Rolet’s 2023 L’Étoile Chardonnay shows the grape in a poised, terroir-led style, balancing freshness with the gentle depth of 12 months in oak. Its name means “the star,” a reference to the five-pointed pentacrine fossils found in the limestone-rich soils of Jura.

Tasting Notes
The nose combines citrus, white flowers and fresh almond with a chalky, almost saline mineral note. On the palate, focused acidity and a firm structure meet a creamy texture, leading to a subtly rounded finish with pleasing length. The supplied information does not specify an aging window.

Production
The Chardonnay comes from the En Novalet parcel in Plainoiseau, in the L’Étoile appellation, where fossil-bearing limestone contributes mineral character and structure.
