Why shop with us?
Domaine Robert Arnoux Echezeaux Grand Cru 2006 is a rare and mature Burgundy from one of the Côte de Nuits’ most prestigious vineyards. Produced under the domaine’s former name—before it became Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux—this Pinot Noir reflects the elegance, perfume and depth associated with Echezeaux Grand Cru and the distinguished Vosne-Romanée appellation.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine is likely to show a mature ruby colour with garnet reflections. Its bouquet can reveal layers of red berries, dried flowers, forest floor, spice and subtle earthy notes, with the complex tertiary character that develops in well-cellared Burgundy.
On the palate, expect refined rather than forceful structure, with silky tannins, lively acidity and flavours of raspberry, cherry, autumn leaves and delicate savoury spice. The 2006 vintage is now at a mature stage, offering immediate drinking pleasure, although its condition will depend greatly on storage and bottle provenance.
Production
Echezeaux is a Grand Cru vineyard in the Côte de Nuits, located in the commune of Flagey-Echézeaux near Vosne-Romanée. Its limestone and marl-based soils, together with the region’s cool continental climate, provide the natural balance and aromatic detail characteristic of great red Burgundy. Made from Pinot Noir, the wine would have been crafted with careful grape selection and traditional Burgundian vinification, followed by maturation in oak to develop texture while preserving the vineyard’s finesse. Specific harvesting and cellar details for this bottle are not available.
Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 16–18°C, allowing the wine to warm gently in the glass. It pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as roasted duck, quail, pheasant, lamb, mushroom-based preparations and aged Comté. Because of its age, decanting should be approached carefully: stand the bottle upright before serving and, if needed, decant briefly to remove sediment, but avoid prolonged aeration. A gentle pour directly into Burgundy glasses may be the best approach for a delicate bottle.
Producer
The estate was historically known as Domaine Robert Arnoux and was renamed Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux after Charles Lachaux became involved in the family domaine. Based in Vosne-Romanée, the domaine has long been recognised for producing finely detailed, terroir-driven Pinot Noir from some of Burgundy’s most sought-after appellations. Its wines are valued for their combination of perfume, precision and graceful ageing potential.
