Domaine Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 2016 is a refined, site-driven Pinot Noir that captures the elegance and precision of one of Vosne-Romanée’s most coveted lieux-dits. From a legendary Burgundy producer and a historic vineyard site, it combines depth, finesse, and a distinctly mineral edge that makes it especially compelling for collectors and Burgundy lovers alike.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a clear ruby-red color with a violet sheen. The nose is lifted and detailed, offering ripe red berries such as cherry and raspberry, alongside floral notes of violet and rose petal, with subtle spice and a gentle mineral undertone.
The palate is elegant and beautifully balanced, with bright acidity bringing freshness and energy to the fruit. Tannins are firm yet silky, providing structure without heaviness, while layered flavors of red berries, spice, and mineral nuances build into a long, precise finish. The 2016 vintage has enough freshness to drink well now, but it should continue to evolve gracefully over the next 8-10 years.
Production
Cros Parantoux is a tiny, highly prized vineyard site in Vosne-Romanée, known for its exceptional terroir and its ability to produce wines of remarkable complexity and finesse. The combination of Burgundy limestone, well-drained soils, and an ideal hillside position gives the wine its signature depth, aromatic purity, and mineral tension. Domaine Méo-Camuzet’s careful harvesting and restrained vinification help preserve the vineyard’s elegance while allowing the character of the vintage to shine through.
Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with delicately prepared poultry, mushroom-based dishes, roast game birds, and mature cheeses. Serve at around 16-18°C to best show its aromatic detail and balance. Decanting is recommended if drinking young, ideally for 1-2 hours, to allow the wine to open and reveal its full complexity.
Producer
Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of Burgundy’s most respected domaines, with deep roots in Vosne-Romanée and a reputation for producing wines of precision, purity, and longevity. The estate has played an important role in elevating the profile of its premier and grand cru holdings, and its wines are consistently prized for their balance of power and refinement. Under the Méo-Camuzet name, the domaine has become a benchmark for classic, terroir-driven Pinot Noir from Burgundy.
