Domaine Méo-Camuzet Richebourg Grand Cru is a striking expression of one of Burgundy’s most revered vineyards, combining concentration, elegance, and remarkable depth. This is a wine that captures the pedigree of Richebourg while showing the refinement and precision for which Méo-Camuzet is so highly regarded.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color with garnet reflections, hinting at both maturity and structure. The nose is layered and expressive, opening with dark berries such as blackcurrant and cherry, then unfolding into violets, rose petals, truffle, forest floor, spice, and a subtle touch of toasted oak.
The palate is full-bodied and beautifully structured, with ripe yet firm tannins and a fresh, balanced acidity that keeps the wine focused and lifted. Concentrated flavors of dark chocolate, licorice, minerals, and spice give it impressive depth and finesse, while the finish is long, elegant, and persistently spicy. This is a wine with excellent aging potential and can continue to evolve gracefully for at least 15–20 years.
Production
Richebourg is one of the great Grand Cru sites of Burgundy, known for producing wines with intensity, complexity, and serious longevity. The 2006 vintage in Burgundy offered a harmonious balance of ripe fruit and freshness, and this bottling reflects that character with poise and definition. Vinified in the classic Burgundian style from Pinot Noir, it showcases the terroir’s mineral depth and the careful hand of the producer.
Food & Serving
Best enjoyed with refined dishes such as game, beef, or truffle-based preparations, where its structure and aromatic complexity can shine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for one to two hours is recommended, especially if opening it in its younger years, to allow the wine to fully раскры its layers.
Producer
Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of Burgundy’s most respected estates, with a strong reputation for producing precise, age-worthy wines from exceptional Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. Based in Vosne-Romanée, the domaine has become a benchmark for elegant, terroir-driven Pinot Noir and is widely admired for its consistency and quality across top sites such as Richebourg.
