Tasting Notes
The wine opens with an enticing aromatic profile of apricot and clementine, offering a bright, sun-kissed impression from the first pour. On the palate, it is well balanced and moderately full, with slightly less tension than Vaillons but a pleasing sense of breadth and ease that makes it immediately appealing. The finish is open, subtly tropical, and very polished, giving the wine a charming, almost irresistible character in 2024. While already delicious in youth, Montmains has the structure and pedigree to develop further complexity with a few years in bottle.

Montmains is a Premier Cru vineyard in Chablis, where Kimmeridgian limestone and clay-rich soils give Chardonnay its signature tension, salinity, and finesse. The fruit is typically harvested by hand or carefully selected to preserve purity and ripeness, then vinified in a style that favors clarity, precision, and respect for the site’s natural expression.

This Chablis pairs wonderfully with oysters, shellfish, grilled white fish, sashimi, and delicate poultry dishes, as well as creamy goat’s cheese and asparagus. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C; decanting is generally not necessary, though a short aeration can help reveal its aromatic detail.
