In the glass, this Echezeaux shows a graceful, polished profile with a deep ruby hue. The nose opens with layers of cherry, raspberry, and blackcurrant, lifted by floral notes of violet and rose petal, before unfolding into forest floor, tea leaf, subtle smoke, spice, and a delicate hint of vanilla and toast from oak aging. The palate is silky and harmonious, yet firmly structured, with ripe fruit wrapped around bright acidity and finely grained tannins. It offers impressive concentration and nuance, finishing long and balanced. While already appealing with some age, this Grand Cru has the substance and balance to continue developing beautifully over many years.

Production
This wine comes from the Grand Cru vineyard of Echezeaux in Vosne-Romanée, a large and complex site divided into multiple climats; Grivot’s parcel in Les Cruots benefits from an excellent location close to Les Suchots. The old Pinot Noir vines are farmed with a focus on quality and harvested to preserve purity and ripeness, then vinified to emphasize terroir expression, balance, and aromatic detail, with maturation in a high proportion of new French oak barrels.
